For those of you who start(ed) at a somewhat high-ish weight like me (145-200lbs+) you’ll quickly find out that, yes, starving yourself will help you lose weight extremely quickly, but you’ll also plateau very quickly.
Here is what I mean:
Let’s say someone at 120lbs starts fasting. They’ll probably lose 10lbs the first week, 5lbs the second, 2-3lbs the third, 1lb the fourth, and then it’ll kind of just stay there with maybe a pound lost every now and then. They’ll get to 95-100lbs pretty quick.
Now, let’s compare this to someone who starts off at 170lbs. That person, sure, may lose 10lbs the first week and the second week, and then 5lbs, etc etc. but still they will plateau at around 130-140lbs.
How do we avoid this?
Thanks for asking!
You start off with a regular cut down to 1000-1200 cals. Then once you aren’t losing weight anymore, cut it down to 600-800 cals. Plateau again? 400-600 cals. Again? 200-400 cals. Repeat.
This not only helps to keep you from giving up early in the process because you’ll be so hungry and not used to it, but it’ll help you lose a lot more weight!
Please stay safe though! I only fast twice a week, to keep myself from bingeing. Bingeing is so horrible so you don’t want to do that. Ever. Always drink a ton of water if you’re *hungry*.
Hope this helps all of my bigger beginners! I’m giving this info out because I know how hard it is. You have the Ana mindset but not the weight. I get it.
Love my butterflies!
